Our mechanisms animations are complemented by interactive tests that test students' knowledge of the names of mechanisms. There are two types of tests, a multiple choice test and a harder test with input fields. Both tests have feedback and score. |
Multiple choice tests and tests with input fields
Our latest tests include feedback, scoreboard, total score and "Start Over" buttons. The numbers on the scoreboard are linked to the questions.
Multiple choice tests may be used as start of module test to assess prior knowledge and as an end of module test for students that cannot cope with the more rigorous tests with input fields.
Test with input fields may be used as an end of module test to assess the level of new knowledge.
Example 1. Mechanisms multiple choice test
There are 100 questions about mechanisms in the test. The test has been divided into three sections, questions 1-33; 34-70; and 71-100 in order to maintain computer processing speed.
Only questions 34, 38, 56, 67, 68 and 70 work in this demo test.
Example 2. Mechanisms test with input fields
Recording students' results
Students should use screen capture software to take a screen shot of the bottom part of their finished tests, then save the screen shot to a place chosen by the teacher.
The teacher may paste the screen shots into a document, either full size or reduced to make them all fit on the minimum number of pages. The teacher then saves the page as a document or as a PDF.
The teacher now has a record of each student’s answers and the total score. View example PDF.
